There was one maple out on the way to the car that rivaled any Christmas lights, and the Biltmore property still had a good bit of color hanging on. We didn't stay long or walk much, but hope to get back to that soon! Here are a couple of pictures from today.

You can see just a glimpse of the Christmas tree on the right.
It was pretty clear. These are a couple of views from the "porch" on the back.
I think that is Mt. Pisgah in the distance. I'm sure Mr. Vanderbilt decided to "buy" Mt. Pisgah (and his hunting lodge) by sitting on the porch and seeing it was the highest peak in view.

Yeah, on one of my family-trips to the Biltmore, I used the blank pages at the end of my little calendar to sketch a few quilting ideas from the decor on walls, ceilings, furniture, windows, railings - I figured they wanted me to buy the book, so I did. But those details weren't in there!
Yeh, we have the book too, but family members in other states don't. Thought I could share with them, but not this time. That's OK. Maybe they will see it in person one day.
