FINALLY...........Fall on the Blue Ridge!!

Felt pretty good today, so decided I could surely ride in a car for a couple of hours.  Packed up my Advil, went to Papa's and Beer for fish tacos and then headed off to Mt. Mitchell.  I'm glad we finally got out when we did, because I could see that as we neared the higher elevations, the color was about at peak, and by the time we got to the "rest stop" before the Mt. Mitchell tunnel, colors were starting to fade.  It was actually MOST intense near the Haw Creek overlook and a little Northward from there.  The ceiling started to drop rapidly as we neared Mt. Mitchell......they were pretty well socked in by the time we got to the entrance to the park.  For those of you who don't live here and can't  take advantage of the Fall views in person, here are some shots you might enjoy.

Unfortunately, the colors faded out on the video once I posted it on the blog  : o (

WOW, that last one looks like postcards I've seen in specialty shops, but I assure you it is the real deal!!!

These are just beautiful. Wish I could see them in person, but, maybe next year.
