Spring in December

Today was an absolute blessing for a December day.  Near 65 degrees with a slight cool breeze, bright winter sunshine and a brilliant blue sky.  How could you stay inside?!!  Again, one of our favorite places to R&R.........beside the French Broad River at the lake on Biltmore property.  Many others were out taking advantage of the unseasonable weather too!
Sunny spot by the river

Pitching sticks and skipping rocks
Looking for rafters and kayaks
A good book........
Engrossed
Beautiful view on the river side

and...

on the pond side.  What a racket they were making!  Someone obviously was encroaching on someone else's territory!!

Could also view the house in the distance.

Even a Great Blue Heron was perched on his look-out post.

The horse drawn carriage came by (as you can see, I missed the front end!)
And people on Segways...missed the front end of them, too.  They were FAST!!

So, all in all, a very pleasant 3 hours of peace and beauty.  I feel so blessed!
