Post Christmas

If any of you are familiar with the biblical story of "Mary and Martha", you will know what I mean when I say I tried so very hard to be a "Mary" but ended up being a "Martha" anyway!  So much to accomplish with a big crowd, but so happy to have them all here, at the same time.

Some of the group left the day after Christmas, and the last one left this morning.  It was sad to see each of them leave.  The house, of course, is back to being very quiet and still.

We are so blessed to have family be able to get together for special occasions, and wish we all lived a little closer to one another, so travel could be accomplished more often.  I caught many glimpses of the Christ child in my family members, and thank Him for allowing them to be a part of my life.

I love you all and wish you a blessed and prosperous new year with our Father watching over you each day you move on.

It was a terrific Christmas thanks to you. Too short though. It is too important a day to be just the 25th. Next year I'm declaring Christmas Days - the 25th & the 26th. Open half the presents on the 25th and the other half on the 26th. Ham on the 25th and turkey on the 26th.

Think about it. We celebrate Bele Chere for 3 days and the Leaf Festival lasts 3 days. NASCAR celebrates the beginning of each season Daytona 500 opener with Speed Weeks for over two WEEKS! All we give Jesus is one crummy day? He should get at least 2 days for Heaven's sake (no pun intended).

Anyway, thanks for the nice post and the terrific Christmas hostess job you do. We all love you a ton!

Happy New Year!

Everything was really pretty... from the village to the mantle to the living Christmas tree that almost claimed Dad's life. Thanks for indulging our Papa's and Beer cravings (twice) and for ordering snow just in time. We miss you both! :)
