Sorry for the hands....don't know how to photograph the mirror without being in it!
Here's the trim (there is a "leaf" theme going on: curtain, rug and molding)" I hope to stain it so it accentuates the leaf/vine pattern.
For quite a while now, I've been trying to decide on what I wanted to put behind the stove and along that wall in the kitchen to make easy clean -up of grease. The whole time we've been here, it has just been paint, so the grease is pretty evident once it splatters on the wall. Painting over it helps for a little while, but then you're back to grease spots pretty quickly. (They don't wash off)
Today I purchased some recycled glass tiles. The little ones with the mesh back that you can cut with scissors. I figured the small pieces would lend themselves well to fitting around the light switches, etc. I also got pre-mixed grout so I don't have to worry about mixing it correctly, and it doesn't have to be sealed. It is even stain-resistant.
Here's a pic of the current wallpaper border strip above the counter:
From the left to the right will require only ten 12" tiles blocks. (it's only 14.5" high, so I may end up getting a "border" of some sort for the top) Here's what the new tile looks like:
The grout we purchased is a soft beige/tan called "silk" and will blend with the countertop well, I think.
If this one wall goes well, I will do the opposite one too.
I can't wait to get started but don't want to breathe fumes, so it will be a few weeks, I'm sure. I will just keep "collecting" all my supplies for all my projects and when the time comes, I'll be ready to start in on it! Excited for Spring, but sure wish we could have just ONE good SNOW before it comes!!

Those projects look like a lot of fun. I love the small glass tiles you're putting in the kitchen. I can't wait to see it! :)
I hope they look good. I know they will be a lot easier to keep clean. Just come glass cleaner and paper towel!!
I'm very interested in your glass tile experience as well! And that's a really pretty trim with the leaf pattern!!
