We packed a lunch and headed out to the Biltmore again today to see if the Wisteria was blooming yet. No Wisteria yet, but many more Azaleas than last week! Nature's beauty was astounding wherever you looked in any direction! That Mr. Frederick Law Olmstead sure knew how to design gardens on such a grand scale!! Enjoy his work from many years ago.....
On the way in by the guardhouse, we saw two turkeys. The gate person said they come through every year to eat the holly berries there.
Some, but not all of the pics have a caption/commentary.
This next picture is of a Japanese Maple in bright sunshine. It looked like it was on fire!!
Isn't this a neat old stump with all the roots pushing up too?!!
There are two or three structures like this on the property. Does anyone know what their purpose is?
These azaleas that look like clustered honeysuckles have a very nice fragrance. Wonder if I can get some of these at a local nursery?
Peeking out from under a rock.
Wildflowers off the main path.
Looks like something from another place and time, doesn't it? Beautiful!!
Two water snakes mating alongside the stream.

Most of these photos did not need comment - by going back, it seems you got a lot of that Azalea garden at the pinnacle of showiness!
Stunning Sherrye! Thanks for sharing. I felt like I was right there with you!
