Got a Foot!!!

Today the prosthetist brought a new foot.  Daddy says it is a little heavy but says it is probably because he has not been using those muscles for a while.  He will be provided with a different (lighter weight) foot next week and then he can decide which one he likes best.  The heavier foot has a "spring" in it to help "push off" for walking.

The first thing he did when the prothetist left was to get in the car to see how it felt to press the accelerator pedal.  Now he wants me to come back down to teach him to drive!!  I told him I would be glad to return the favor, and it would be easier than when he taught me...., "Now this is the blinker, and this is the gear shift....etc."   HAHA.  At least he knows the parts already!!

The Physical Therapist will be back on Friday to give him some gait training.  Woo-Hoo...on the way back to normal!!
