UPDATE on the Book Character quilt
The sashing, post, and border/binding fabric was chosen and the final layout is satisfactory. The sashing is a light green striped seersucker, the posts are a light gray stripe (grandmother's old shirt), and the border/binding is a medium blue gingham seersucker used in my granddaughter's first quilt made by me.

oh yeah!! I'd sort of forgotten this was in the works - looking forward to the top put together!!
