Biltmore ... on foot this time

We went back to the Biltmore today, and walked around Antler Hill Village this time.  Got NO SUGAR ice cream and watched the crowds.  It was a busy day with bikers, walkers, Segways, pets, children, and sight-seers.  As you can see in the very first picture, the sky was a brilliant Autumn blue because it is so crisp, cool, and dry.  We started our walk at the bottom parking lot by the Kitchen Garden below the barn.  We could smell the BBQ wafting across the breeze (we didn't succumb).

This is the picture on the sign welcoming us to the garden.  This is when they first started it....you can see above, in the first pic, how much everything has grown and how end of summer takes its toll on most of the plants.  There were still plenty of pretty blooms, though.

Zinnias

Asters/Micaelmas Daisies?

Don't know this one, but it was beautiful.

Sitting on a bench, looking out past the barn.

Fire Pit by the barn

Rest time halfway.  Peaceful spot!

Guests learning to use the Segways.

Potted plants in the Courtyard.  Always love their combinations.  This one had cranberry mums, snapdragons, and cranberry/yellow pansies.
This one by the Winery entrance was interesting with the golden/green trailer (creeping Jenny?)

In the yards by the creamery, there were many colorful mums.
Don't know this one, but it's pretty.
Not familiar with this one either, but isn't it interesting in color.  It looks like some kind of salad green?

Beautiful pink Zinnia

The Maple that greeted us coming in and said "good-bye" going back out.

Little Donkey on the way out.

Field full of sheep on the way out.

I don't know as many of the flowers as you do, but I do know it's great to see photos of Dave out enjoying the sights!
